Ukrainian wedding couples will have to pass medical examination before giving the yes in the Civil Registry, according to the law promulgated by the president of the country, Víctor Yuschenko. 

According to the legal text, it will try to stop the spread of diseases such as AIDS and that was approved on December 22 by Parliament, the parties have the obligation to communicate to their future spouse truthful information about their state of health before getting married.

The modification of the Family Code indicates that the Health system must guarantee the free conduct of medical examinations and the results of which will be confidential and disclosed only to the couple. The results cannot serve as a basis for officials to refuse to register a marriage.
